So I busted out the pack and play yesterday for some time outs. Conventional adoption wisdom says, when you put kids in a time out, don't leave the room because then they feel abandonded all over again and are completely freaked out.
What do you think readers? Hogwash?
Actually, I think that is pretty accurate for S-Man. But for Lil'O? I really have no idea. S-Man sits at the kitchen table for time outs, but Lil'O is not so great at sitting, so I got out the pack and play. Which of course was like a celebration and cause for great excitment and rumpus playing.
So I have been foiled. Anyone out there have advice regarding disicpline for an almost 2 year old who loves, loves, LOVES to hit??
I don't know about discipline, but "Hands are Not for Hitting" by Martine Agassi is an awesome book!
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain literally!
ReplyDeleteTheo is a hitter too... especially nice when we are at let's say the pool
ugh! the best is when I say no hitting and he laughs....fun times.
