Nolan's Art

"I tried to draw a lambo, but it turned out a platypus! Can you believe it? Now it's a platypus car!"

Church- 2years in!

We joined Redeemer Hutto 2 years ago, a church plant from Redeemer Round Rock, and originally from Redeemer in Lubbock. Here is our very first picture of the group of families that were the core of the plant.

We just had a leadership meeting with pastors, staff, elders, and deacons and took another picture of just the leadership team.

I didn't even realize it until someone mentioned it, but our current group of leaders is bigger than our original core of people that started our church. Check it out if you would like; redeemerhutto.org

Praise God that we get to praise God together!

Summer Stuffs

I took Seth, Nolan, Ollie, and Ollie's buddy Kevin to a ninja gym the other day. They are pretty impressive little gymnasts.

New dishwasher and MVP husband for the 20th year running..... Jon!

Zach and Jennifer were in town for a few short nights. Dinner out at Jack Allen's did not disappoint!

Camp Invention!
I worked this past week as a teacher/counselor at Camp Invention and Nolan attended. It was a great week. Robotics, experiments, making a light-box and playing with glow items, building and making pro-types, Camp Invention has it all! It made me really nostalgic as well, because although I had never worked it as a teacher before, Seth always went as an elementary student in Lubbock and it was always a major highlight of the summer for him. I'm glad Nolan is happy to tinker and learn as well.

4th of July

Woah! This is my only picture from the 4th!

We all walked over to the amphitheater around 7pm when it was a balmy 96 degrees. Sigh. Texas summer. 10 minutes later, Seth made me chuckle by saying, "You know what? This is not as actually as fun as I thought. It's hot and all people are doing is talking. I am going to walk home." I'm right there with ya, bud! Who wants to just sit out in the heat??

Anyway, I braved it out and we did watch a lovely firework show. It seemed bigger and grander than usual, but who knows. When the sun finally went down, it was actually quite pleasant. We walked back home after it was over and our neighbor, Jaime, had a ton to light off. Since we have the alley and field behind our house, we usually light them behind our house rather than his. I decided to stay in since I was already pretty sweaty and Jon and the boys went out to have fun. Nolan ran back in about 10 minutes later shouting, "Mom!! Mom! The police are here! Did you know it was illegal to light fireworks?" I sheepishly answered, "well, yes, I did know that." Nolan, "WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL US???" Jon got a warning and I got a big laugh out of Nolan. He can be such a little firecracker himself, but wouldn't ya know it, I think he is turning into a rule-follower. All and all, a fun 4th!

X-Ray

When we got home, Nolan's fever had finally broken but he still had a pretty nasty cough. I had made a doctor's appointment for him while we were in MN so we went right away when we got home and our poor little buddy had pneumonia! This was his first x-ray outside of the dentist office. Actually, I think this is the first x-ray any of the Mot boys has ever had, which is saying something considering how active all of them are. He was on an antibiotic and it cleared up really quickly, thankfully.

A great trip to MN, but we could have done with a healthy Nolan and more sleep! We might have to just have a re-do!

Fishing Charter

These 5 went out on a fishing charter and by all accounts had a blast. They caught quite a haul!

Momo wins for the biggest catch!

That night Alexa cooked fish up for dinner and man oh man did we feast. I can honestly say they were the best fish I have ever eaten. They were so fresh and not even fishy. Yummmm.

Lake Superior

Road trip! Time to head to the North Shore!

Moose Lake stop along the way

A Lefse food truck parked along side the road in Moose Lake? Yes, please! Have you ever seen such a thing!?? They had all these interesting panini-style lefse sandwiches and so many good lefse desserts (strawberery shortcake lefse, smore lefse, lemon cream lefse, etc.) that we had never even thought of making. I had to order one of each kind, and it did not disappoint. Soooo delicious! The lady that owned the truck knew just where Wolf Point, MT was and lived in another small town just down the road. It was so fun chatting with her.

 Lake Superior!

Scenic Overlook

The dome house! Eli rented this airbnb for us all, and it was so beautiful! Lots of great windows to see the lake and all the scenery. Unfortunately the basement was completely flooded when we got there, which meant all the Mots slept on the top floor right under all those gorgeous windows (less gorgeous at 4:30am when the sun started coming up-ha!) Nolan was still coughing up a storm all night, so we were really short on sleep.

Emmy loved playing up in the loft. So sweet when someone would shout, "Hi Auntie Joy!"

Short hike and geocaching in the Lutsen Mountains.

No bugs for Alexa!

Geocahe!

Gondola and Ski Lift at Lutsen Mountain

Obligatory local ice cream shop.
Only disappointment was the matcha, although Auntie Alexa would disagree.

More playing in the water

Poor Emmy! This picture was taken 10 seconds before she lost her footing and went down. (The water was a brisk 46 degrees. Brrrrr!) Eli was standing within arms reach and had her out immediately, but she was so upset that the water got in her eyes.

Then she immediately started to say how cold she was as Eli hustled her to the bathtub. Later she asked him, "Daddy, did you come running when I was sinking?" Awwwww.... yes sweetpea. No one would let you sink.

And finally, the cutest picture of the trip. :)
