Summer Sundries

Summer!  We are staying busy, if not caught up on recording such busyness.

Nolan's new(ish) words:
Chew - shoe  Nolan is quick to point out if Jon hasn't taken off his work boots right away upon returning home.
Br - bird    Just until recently, Nolan was calling every animal duddy! (puppy) but just learned bird.
All-la - Ollie
Uh oh!
Chee - Jesus  We sing Jesus loves me to Noey before laying him down for bed and he is starting to sing along.  He also will tell us "chee, chee" if it's getting late and he's ready to hit the hay.
Bi - bye

He is also starting to imitate our body actions, crossing his arms, leaning a hand against a wall and bending one leg.  I need to get some pictures, so darling!  He really likes trying to draw with a pen or chalk and he holds the pen or chalk correctly!  He doesn't just grip it in his fist, he has watched us closely enough to hold it correctly.  I am aware that this has crossed the line into bragging.... but I don't care!  I'm impressed!

When we got back from Montana, we took care of this little pumpkin for a few days while his foster parents had a health emergency.  He had the wildest hair!  Jon said he looked like Syndrome from the Incredibles, I thought he looked more like an Ewok.  At any rate, Syndrome or Ewok, he was a peach.

Ollie went to the Science Spectrum critterfest with Jonathan and his siblings.

Seth and Ollie are both playing basketball this summer, and funny enough both got put on the wizards, although in different age categories.

Seth scored in his first game!

Ollie's first game.  When he got home, he ran to tell Seth, "Seth, it's so loud.  And crazy and different than practice.  And there is so many RULES!"

In other random news, Ollie is obsessed with kissing Jon on the lips.  Who even knows why or how this inside joke all started.  All I know is that Jon is dead set against it, mostly just to get Ollie's goat.  A few weeks ago, Jon kissed Nolan, and it made Ollie burst into tears.  Drama!  Ollie is our child where most of our discipline or conversations happen while biting our cheek to keep from laughing.

Kirsten, Seth, and Dakota!

Super proud of these guys!  They made a neat-o bird house geocache.

We've had a low key week, Ollie ended up with strep, or something quite similar.  He is on the mend though, and finally woke up today with no fever.  The boys are both begging for fourth of July plans but Jon and I are leery to commit, it seems too unreasonably hot for a parade!  We shall see!
