How We Spent Our Saturday (or What We Did While Mama Was Gone)

Joy is in South Carolina for the weekend visiting some college friends. I think this is the first time she has been gone overnight, but us boys found plenty to keep us busy today.

We got our morning started early with a sunrise bike ride.

Then off to find a couple of geocaches.

We met up with one of our favorite people for some doughnuts.

We made a new friend and experimented with nets and hunting blinds at Gander Mtn.

Then of course we had to use Mama's birthday coupon for Schlotzsky's...I mean it expired today and we couldn't let it go to waste now could we :-)

A nap and some Mr. Potato Head time to recharge after a busy morning.
(Not pictured: an afternoon's worth of college football)

Our little cleaner made quick work of a very dirty van while O and I worked on bikes.

And we still had plenty of time to spend in the fort.

We went out for dinner using another of Mama's expiring birthday coupons.

And finally, we ended our day with cupcakes to celebrate Mama's birthday.

Happy 30th to the best Mama we know! We love you!!!

Blessing with our Birthday Boy

Our sweet Bear turned three today!  We had a wonderful weekend celebrating him, and I felt so blessed for so many reasons.  We are surrounded by a wonderful community of family and friends who came out to help us celebrate.

Let the races begin!

My favorite three-year old!

On your mark, get set, goo!

Cake time!  Ok, just doughnuts...

Friends and Cars!

And the racing continues at home...

Bear, you are simply a delight.  I feel blessed every day that I get to be your mama.  Even this morning, when you came in at 5:45 and asked if it was time for your Happy Birthday....

The first day: the love continues

Me:  Hey Buddy!  How are you?  I just missed you so much, tell me all about what you got to do!
Superman:  I played games, I was on the play ground, I had stickers.
Me:  Wow!  That sounds great!  You had so much fun!
S (wondering): How did you know?  How did you know I had so much fun?  Did you call Mrs. Hollyhandro?

Jon: How was school?  Did you have fun with Mrs. A?
S:  Yes, but she had on different clothes.

Just the facts, sir, just the facts.
