Cousin Camp: Part 1

Everybody sing it with me, "Have you ever seen a kiddo nuzzling a hippo? Down by the bay!"

Our third annual (and possibly best?!) cousin camp just wrapped up and such sweet memories were made. Evelyn showed the proper and appropriate amount of hippo-loving needed for such a community as this.

This blue guy was outside of our Airbnb and lots of stops to pat him and ride him were necessary.

Hippo kiss!

Our rental turned out to be absolutely perfect and lots of meals and laughs were shared at these tables.

The toddlers did a great job exploring every inch of these stairs.

And the kids and grandpa explored every inch of this backyard playground.

Nolan was just getting over some kind of stomach bug right when everyone got here, so he had a pretty slow start participating in all the cousin activities. By weeks end he was up for anything and was sad to say goodbye to everyone. We all were!

Community!

We are joining a church plant here in Hutto and have met the best people. It was scary moving at our age and looking for a new friend group, but the God has been so good to us. We have the best community and are excited to start a new adventure with helping to start a new church. Hutto is growing so rapidly, but has very few churches. It seems like the perfect conditions to try and connect people to Jesus and others. Several of our friends support raise for a living, so let me know if you are looking for some amazing Christians that you would like to support!

Dr. Seuss Week!

No one does crazy hair quite as good as Ollie.

Crazy hair day and Cowboy day at my school.

Me and Tracy, partners in crime!

I have no idea why they had a bunny at Ollie's school, but I feel the need to include it.

Honor Choir

Ollie's last year of elementary choir has been wrapping up with their big multi-school concert. Everyone did an amazing job! I'm not sure if Ollie will continue with Choir as he gets older, but I am really proud of him for expanding his interests beyond sports.

National Anthem for a girls senior game.

Robotics

In addition to working full time this year, I have also taken on the position of coaching our elementary robotics team. It has been waaaaay more encompassing than I originally expected, but I have enjoyed it. We performed terribly at our first ever competition back in November but learned a ton. When it was time for our regional competition we dominated and our team took home 3 of the 5 first place trophies. We then moved on to state, which I was guessing would be the end of our run. Only 2 out of 7 elementary schools in Hutto even made it to State. But guess what??? Two of our teams have now made it to worlds! We do get a 2 month break as the world championship is in Dallas in mid May. I recently learned that 70 countries will be represented, with over 1,000 teams! My dad sent me a news article this morning about an elementary team from Montana fund raising to get there. I'm excited and proud of my kids, but I was also looking forward to the season wrapping up as I constantly feel in over my head. Ha!

Noey is SIX!

That has got to be a typo! 6 is more than a whole hand, almost moving past the pre-k/kinder years! It is really hard for me to believe that our caboose baby is six. He is getting more spoiled by the day as it dawns on Jon and I that this is our last run with a little guy. One more book at bedtime? Sure, why not. Dessert after dinner even when you refused to eat anything? Ok. (He is still itty bitty, after all.)

Our family is so blessed by Nolan. He is a fantastic kid. We all love him to pieces.

We invited his class and a few church friends to a trampoline park to celebrate and Nolan jumped himself silly and declined his piece of birthday cookie cake so he didn't miss out on even one second of fun. Momo and Mimi were even here to celebrate with him!

This has got to be the most epic picture of all time.

And some major excitement when we got home from the party.
What could that be??

Ahhhhhh! A dirt bike!

Apparently Grandma has a sixth sense about bday presents; just look at the shirt she gave him.

Happy birthday little buddy!
