Spring Break: Second Half

The underlying themes of the second half of the week were (in no particular order) March Madness, camping, the bathroom remodel, and celebrating Baha'i New Year/the first day of Spring with our ET posse.

Grout was successfully applied? Administered? Plain ol' put it?

Walls received a second coat of paint.

Counters were selected and purchased.  We picked out some samples and texted this picture out for an informal voting.  Spoiler alert:  We picked a counter option not shown in the sampling.  Ha!

We discovered this trick.  We've lived here almost two years! How are we just stumbling upon this?
I've got some hilar videos of such antics, perhaps I'll post them another day.

And of course, the much anticipated camping trip went down, just not in the way we expected.  Although it was in the 70's the whole time Josh was here, and it's supposed to be 90 on Tuesday, the highs over the weekend were in the 50's, with lows in the 30's.

So we camped at home.  Which. Was. Awesome.  I cannot stress that enough.

No one froze.
We could shower before bed so we didn't have to smell like campfire all night long.
We could shove mattresses into the tent.
We forgot nothing.
No packing.
We had functioning, non-smelly, real bathrooms.
No drive.
We didn't have to clean out nasty coolers back home.
No bugs, no mud.
No scary loud wind noises to keep a certain five year old up all night.
The boys slept in since the sun didn't wake everyone.
Hang up some Christmas lights and viola, you can still star gaze!

Despite all that perfection, Jon and I still slept terribly.  Ha!  That's camping for ya.
