The Week That Was A Month

It's been a loooong week, and having Labor Day off did not help.  All day Ollie was mopey and whiney, "but why can't we go to school? Why do we need to stay home? We are not even doing any real celebrating." (deep, deep sigh)  It might have all felt dandy if Jon had at least gotten to stay home, but he didn't.

Ollie got strep last week and spent a few days at home on the couch recovering.  Meanwhile Seth did not get strep and spent a few days at school feeling jealous, wishing he were home.  Noey had his six month appointments, meaning he got shots which made him feel bad and grumpy and messed with his sleep for a few days.  (Read: crying baby.)  Jon was in Nebraska rounding out four weeks of too much travel and the cherry on top would have to be Seth using enough TP to flood the toilet.  Twice.  In one week.   ("Oh, but last time you said don't put that many tissues in the toilet.  This is toilet paper!")

But, I got to celebrate my birthday!  I kept forgetting and then being delightfully surprised by texts, packages, gifts, riddles, cards, even pastries from Taiwan and a beautiful purse from Ethiopia!  It's lovely to feel loved.

A sick Ollie.

Oh yeah.
I guess Labor Day weekend wasn't a total bust.
We went to the Tech game on Saturday and had a blast.  Noey even had his first nibble of cotton candy.
